Patschi

I didn't have any specific plans or ideas and was just looking for Porters for fun. It was just a rough idea to use it for little weekend trips to go kitesurfing. When I suddenly saw the Patschi on eBay, it was still something of a crazy impulse buy.

I wanted a clean and minimally invasive conversion without drilling holes in the bodywork or modifying it in any other way. The conversion should be easy to remove so that the car and its loading capacity can be used, but it should also be comfortable and cozy as a camper.

I can't decide between everything and nothing :-) In some situations, I would like the conversion to be different, but in other situations, it's perfect as it is. With the limited space, you unavoidably have to make compromises; you can't have everything.

I do most of my short trips in beautiful Northern Germany. And I also like to drive to Denmark with my Patschi.

Getting an appointment for registration during the COVID-19 pandemic... Otherwise, I was fortunately very naive and had no idea what to expect :-)

How much this tiny car means to me

I bought it without seeing and driving it. As tiny as the car is, it doesn't through our garage door... it's 3 cm too high... It has been painted (by the previous owner) with the cheapest supermarket garage paint. It is actually white.

I enjoy every trip (even short ones) with Patschi, regardless of the destination.

If you want one, buy one!

Since everything is homemade, everything is somehow special and unusual. But my external sockets and power plugs are quite special.

Not the funniest, but the nicest thing is always seeing people's cheerful, friendly reactions to the porter.
